Our mutiny seems like it took place ages ago now. First one, then the other and more followed. We hardly remember the hows and whys, but here we are. Pirates. Mutineers. The name didn't take long to come to or to like. And it is sticking and we are happy pirates and you will have to walk the plank if you make wreaths or Santa heads.

This is indie craft. This is our mutiny. Craft Mutiny.

The Mutiny is lucky that we are all Crafty Bastards this year! We took an afternoon out of our busy busy getting ready to assemble Craft Mutiny promo packs to give out. Joy, Paula and I made our way up to the roof where we had to battle wind, but luckily no rain to assemble nearly 400 promo packs!

The vendor list for this year's event is just amazing. I have spent too much time checking it out. My favorite things right now are these paintings by Rania Hassan at www.goshdarnknit.com:

These are just mesmerizing. The idea that we are knitting each other's projects over space and time is just lovely. I think about this all the time. About time and history and what my great grandma's life was like 100 years ago. There is this calm about these paintings, too. Something about the colors and how pretty the girls are. I can't wait to see these in person!

The Mutineers have been so busy lately that I want to take this time to thank all of our friends and family that support us. It can be maddening to be a partner of a crafter. Your house/apartment is always over-run with glue and beads and yarn and paper.
