pirate-y things

The front page of etsy.com right now is all about pirates. I dig these pirate cards:

Anyway, the pirates here at the Craft Mutiny are busy busy. Those of us who can travel this holiday season will be taking to the road and selling at Handmade Arcade in Pittsburgh, Felt Club in LA, and Bazaar Bizarre Boston to name a few. We will also be holding our own little winter outdoor market in December.

More news coming, including information about our new members!

New Mutineers

So, we have two new Craft Mutiny members - Caitlin of Rebound Designs and Rania of Gosh Darn Knit.

I first met Caitlin at the CityPaper Crafty Bastards' vendor party. Her enthusiasm was infectious and I immediately told our other collective members about her desire to join. Here is one of her rad books purses:

Caitlin is a consummate professional. In fact, her booth at Crafty Bastards was the absolute best-looking one that I had the pleasure to see. Her site is nifty, too, click it: http://www.rebound-designs.com/.

Rania makes gentle and beautiful AND funky art.

Her booth at the show was open on both sides and every time I tried to chat with her, she was mad busy with customers. A true tribute to her unique and engaging work. Check out her site here at
http://www.goshdarnknit.com/.

If I had more time to wander the show, I would have marveled even more at her handiwork. But then, vendors get so little opportunity to admire each others' work. Did I miss out? Yes, but not for long. We have tons of new shows upcoming. Check back for details.

We are proud to have new members. Such quality and diversity is what the Mutiny is all about.

Getting Ready for HandMade Arcade

Well, we are getting ready for the show in Pittsburgh and I am nervous. It is an indoor show, which means no tent. Most people prefer indoor shows, but I rely on the tent to hang purses. Usually for indoor shows, I stick to jewelry. But not for this show. The demographic is right and they will sell. So now, how do I display them?

Here is a pic from Crafty Bastards that shows how much merch the tent supports:

The good people at HANDMADE are providing tables and chairs and a nice indoor space. That should be a relief. Now I just gotta figure out how to hang/prop bags on the table!
